Dr. Patel was born in Detroit and raised in Ohio. He attended Ohio State University for both undergraduate and Optometry School. In 1991 he graduated and moved to California where he began practicing in Gilroy as a solo practitioner. He has continued to practice in Gilroy for the past 13 years, merging with two private practices to form a group practice now known as Visual Edge Optometric in 2000. Dr. Patel is a member of the Rotary club of Gilroy for the past 4 years and is active in several charity events with the club. He is also a member of the Indian Cultural Association of San Jose and the Charitable Care Foundation. He has made a trip with the Lions Club in 1991 to care for impoverished patients in India for a two week period. Dr. Patel has been married for 13 years with two wonderful children and enjoys playing basketball, softball and weight training.
